Converting your Website
This section describes how to convert an existing TelstraClear Professional Web Site to a FrontPage web site and vice versa. As some features are unique to FrontPage web sites, your web site may look and behave differently when you convert it. Before doing a conversion you should make sure you have a backup of all your web pages and content.

Converting a TelstraClear Professional web site to a FrontPage web site

  1. Go to the Self Service page on the TelstraClear Web Site. Enter your TelstraClear account number and password. This is your TelstraClear password NOT your Clear.net.nz password. You will find your TelstraClear account number on your monthly TelstraClear account.
    You will need to have a Domain name registered to use Professional Webhosting. If you do not have one, you will need to request one through our Domain name registration page.
     
  2. Click the 'Professional Web Hosting' icon.
    From the list box near the bottom of the page, select your web site by clicking once on your web site name.
     

     
    Click the 'FrontPage Support' button.
    The FrontPage support page will load.
     
  3. Read all the notes and warnings on this page and when you are ready to proceed, click the 'Enable FrontPage Support' button.
    The second 'FrontPage Support' page will load.
     
  4. On this page you must set a FrontPage Administrator Username and Password. You will be prompted for this by FrontPage when accessing your web site. Write this Username and Password down. You will not be able to access your web site without it! Note: The Username and Password fields are case sensitive. Passwords must be a minimum of 6 characters long.
     

     
    Click the 'Enable FrontPage Support' button.
    You will be returned to the Web Hosting 'Main Menu'.
     
  5. The changes you made will take effect within the next hour. At this time you can publish your FrontPage web site.

Converting a FrontPage web site to a TelstraClear Professional web site

  1. Go to the Self Service page on the TelstraClear Web Site. Enter your TelstraClear account number and password. This is your TelstraClear password NOT your Clear.net.nz password. You will find your TelstraClear account number on your monthly TelstraClear account.
    You will need to have a Domain name registered to use Professional Webhosting. If you do not have one, you will need to request one through our Domain name registration page.
     
  2. Click the 'Professional Web Hosting' icon.
  3. From the list box near the bottom of the page, select your web site by clicking once on your web site name.
     

     
    Click the 'FrontPage Support' button.
    The 'FrontPage Support' page will load. Click the button labelled 'Disable FrontPage Support'.
    You will be returned to the Web Hosting 'Main Menu' page.
     
  4. You should have set up a Webmaster as part of your original FrontPage web set up. If you didn't or you can't remember what you set up, click the 'Webmasters' button and set up one now. Click the 'Save Changes' button when you have finished.
     
  5. If you wish to set up Access Control on your clear.net Professional web site, click on the 'Access Control' button.
These changes will not take effect immediately. Your FrontPage web site will become a clear.net Professional web site within the next hour. At this time you can check your site, make any changes and re-publish your clear.net Professional web site.
