Call Queue
Call Queue notifies you of incoming calls when you are already on the phone, and enables you to switch back and forth between the two. It also means that incoming callers will never get a busy signal (unless you get more than two incoming calls at once).

How Call Queue works

If you're on the phone and another caller phones in, you'll hear four short beeps. Switch from one call to the other simply by pressing the 'recall' button.

Call Queue is available in most areas. All you need is a touchtone phone. It also works with the Second Phone Number feature.

How much?

Call Queue costs $3.95 a month

Call Queue with other services

Call Queue works really well with Message Mailbox. You can decide whether to accept the second call or let it go through to Message Mailbox to take a message.

If you have a fax operating on the same number, we suggest using our Second Phone Number or Phone and Fax Line services, so that you never miss important faxes. TelstraClear requires 30 days notice of cancellation of PhoneLine Features. This means the usual charges will continue to apply for 30 days after the date you cancel your service, even if it is disconnected within that period.

Call Queue User Guide

How Call Queue works
Call Queue is easy to use:
  • Four beeps tell you someone's calling you when you're on another call. However, you have longer than this to answer the second call. The second caller simply hears a ringing tone and will usually keep holding for six to eight rings.
  • Excuse yourself from the first caller
  • Then press the 'flash' or 'recall' button on your phone. You can then talk to the second caller.
  • To return to the first caller, simply press the 'flash' or 'recall' button again and you will be able to continue your original conversation.
If you use the 'flash' or 'recall' button on your phone to move between calls you won't lose a caller by mistake.

How to suspend Call Queue
You can suspend Call Queue if, say, you need to make an important call where you don't want to be interrupted or you're about to use the Internet.
  • Before you make your call or connect to the Internet, lift the handset and dial *52.
  • Then dial your call or connect to the Internet.
  • When you complete your call, Call Queue is automatically reactivated.
