Number Block

Prevent your number being displayed to the person you are calling. If the person or organisation you are calling has Caller Identification or a similar service, they will be able to see your number before they pick up the phone. You can prevent your number being displayed using Number Block.

How does it work?

Instead of your number showing, the words 'Caller ID blocked' or a similar message is displayed.
There are two kinds of Number Withhold services:

• Per Call
  Simply dial 0197 before you dial the number. (Dial 197 if the number you are calling from has a toll bar.) This will prevent your number being displayed for that call only. Anyone can use this service at any time. You need to dial this code every time you want to withhold the number.
  
  
• Automatic
  Your number is withheld automatically on all calls. You need to let us know if you would like this service. If you have this service, just dial the number as usual. You can override Automatic Number Block by dialling 0196 or 196 if the number you are calling from is a toll bar. You will need to dial this code every time you want to override Automatic Number Block.

Number Block is a free service.

Even if you use Number Block, your number will be displayed to 111 emergency services and our operators.

TelstraClear requires 30 days notice of cancellation of PhoneLine Features. This means the usual charges will continue to apply for 30 days after the date you cancel your service, even if it is disconnected within that period.
