How to read the maps
These maps are intended as a guide only to show TelstraClear’s Mobile coverage and Mobile Broadband coverage areas as of December 2007.
There may be some variation to the TelstraClear services available via the core, wide area, fringe and marine coverage areas depicted on the coverage maps. A number of factors cause this variation, including your height above sea level, building construction when indoors, local geography and buildings that may interfere with service, environmental conditions and network capacity issues and demand for service.

TelstraClear Mobile Broadband Coverage
 |
Core Coverage
Voice calling and nationwide mobile data primary coverage as above. Important information about coverage
- To use your mobile phone you must be within a mobile phone coverage area, ie in an area which receives a mobile phone radio signal. Most mobile phones have a display on screen which indicates the strength of the signal when making or receiving calls.
- To get the best out of your mobile phone always ensure that the aerial of your phone, if it has one, is fully extended and that the battery is fully charged.
- External antennas, where available, are a very effective way of improving coverage and data throughput rates.
- As with any mobile phone network, you will find pockets of coverage extending well beyond the coverage areas shown on the maps. Also in some instances you may find small patches where the signal is minimized due to features such as hills, valleys, trees, tunnels or buildings which may interfere with service.
- We regularly increase capacity in areas where populations swell during holiday seasons and for special occasions such as sports events, field days and food festivals.
- We do this using transportable mobile sites and by installing temporary extra capacity into existing sites
