Getting Connected
There are a number of variables when it comes to connecting a new service. The following offers a summary for you to understand any costs that may be associated with connecting to Broadband. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Your Installation

Most TelstraClear installations usually proceed without any problem or changes. There may be occasions where TelstraClear cannot proceed with your installation on the requested date.  If this happens we will contact you and advise of other options available.

Do You Need A Modem?

If you are new to broadband, you will need a modem. We have a selection of modems available with flexible payment options.

Monitored Alarms

To avoid delays in getting connected, it is important you advise us if you have a monitored alarm i.e. a burglar or monitored alarm which calls you or a security company when activated.

Which Connection?

I Have An Existing Broadband Service And Am Switching To Telstraclear At The Same Address

No Connection Required - FREE
If your home phone line is currently connected with (wired) broadband Internet with another service provider, no new network connection or wiring is required. We simply need to activate your broadband service.

Wiring Only* - $169
Required if you already have (wired) broadband connected via your phone line and would like additional work done, requiring a service technician to visit your home.

I Have An Existing Phone Line But Am Signing Up To Broadband For The First Time

Basic Connection - $99
If you don’t have (wired) broadband Internet coming into your house over your home phone line, you will require connection to our broadband service. There is no requirement for a service technician to visit.

Connection & Wiring* - $269
If you are new to Broadband and you have a monitored alarm (calls you or a security company when activated) OR if you have five or more telephone jackpoints in your house OR if you want a jackpoint installed specifically for broadband. Wiring is required and this requires a service technician to visit.

I Do Not Currently Have A Existing Connection At All

Non Standard Connection Charges
A new connection applies where there is currently no phone line into your home and you wish to have a connection, or when you wish to add an additional line into your home. A service technician will contact you if a visit to your home is required to complete the installation and connection. The work required to install and connect a line varies from property to property, as does the associated cost. The technician will estimate the cost and advise you once they have visited your premises. Price On Application.

*Note: The actual costs of Connection and/or Wiring may differ from the prices above in some situations, as additional charges for cabling, jackpoints, etc, may apply. The service technician should be able to provide an accurate estimate of the final cost of installation, excluding any connection credits. The prices shown exclude connection credits (if applicable).
