Here's what you need to know
- All services and packages are for residential use only and are only available to connectable households on TelstraClear's cable network in Wellington and Christchurch. TelstraClear standard residential terms and conditions apply to all services. Internet Services terms and conditions also apply to internet services.
- All prices include GST, are valid from 1st July 2008, are subject to change at any time and supercede all other prices and offers prior to 1st July 2008.
- Early termination charges may apply your service is subject to a sign-up period contract and you cancel any or all of the services before the end of the stated period.
- Unused Internet hours and traffic allowances cannot be carried forward to subsequent months.
- Wiring maintenance is an optional service. If you are a new PhoneLine customer, TelstraClear will provide you with this service unless you inform us otherwise. Please note you have to have had this service for 30 days before your fault will be covered by this service.
- HighSpeed 1G and 5G Internet plans and Digital TV services are not available on a standalone basis. You must sign up for TelstraClear's InHome PhoneLine service to obtain these services.
- One month notice is required to cancel additional SKY channel options.
- InHome TV Analogue:
This service is no longer available, except for TV customers already on TelstraClear's analogue service. Digital TV customers cannot downgrade to an analogue service. - High Speed Internet:
- Statements about the speed of the services are not guarantees about continuous speed or traffic. The services are capable of burstable speeds up to the speed stated for that package.
- You may Upgrade or Downgrade your plan at any time however only one change is allowed per complete billing period. An "Upgrade" is a change in your plan for the Services involving:
- an increase in speed, regardless of traffic allowance; or
- an increase in traffic alowance and no change in speed.
- A "Downgrade" is a change in your plan for the Services involving:
- a decrease in speed regardless of traffic allowance; or
- a decrease in traffic allowance and no change in speed.
- The charges payable by you for the Services will be increased or decreased (depending on whether there has been an Upgrade or Downgrade) from the date the Upgrade or Downgrade takes effect.
- All traffic (both upstream and downstream) will be counted towards the monthly traffic allowance limit. All traffic sent to and from the TelstraClear servers will also be counted towards your traffic allowance limit, including any traffic rejected by security software or hardware (such as a firewall) on your own equipment. We will charge you on a monthly basis at the stated overage rate on your plan for any usage over the stated traffic allowance. Overage is charged on a block basis and you will be charged for the whole block even if you do not use all the capacity in the block.
- We will send an email to your nominated email address when you have used 80% of your traffic allowance and another email when you have used 100% of that allowance.
It is therefore important that you regularly check your nominated email address for emails we send you about your account and any additional usage charges. You can also check your usage online at https://www.telstraclear.co.nz/usagemeter - You will be responsible for protecting your computer against any virus, unauthorised access or spam. We recommend that you install appropriate firewalls, spam filters and anti-virus software.
- We do not recommend using peer to peer services (file-sharing programmes) as these services use considerable traffic. Any traffic use over your traffic allowance limit will be charged in accordance with clause 5 above.

- Cable Modem:
Internet services require the installation of a cable modem. The cable modem remains the property of TelstraClear Limited. - Digital TV:
Digital TV requires a set top box. The set top box remains the property of TelstraClear Limited. One month's notice is required to cancel or downgrade SKY channel options/tiers.
