What is it?

Just as long distance call costs have tumbled in recent years, so too have TollFree call costs. And as a TelstraClear customer, you can have an 0508 or an 0800 number – or both.

What does it do?

What sets TollFree apart from other free call services are sophisticated features that allow you to mould it to your specific requirements. For example:

  • With Follow Me you can change the number that incoming TollFree calls are directed to in a matter of seconds. Perfect for small businesses where you are often out of the office.
  • Time and Geographical Routing allow you to route inbound TollFree calls intelligently depending on the calling area or specific time of day.
  • Menu Routing and Percentage Call Distribution ensure each call is answered by the most appropriate person, or at the location where staff are available. This feature includes a facility to analyse when busy periods occur, where most calls come from, and other useful marketing-related information.
  • Pin, Access Codes and Call Screening allow you to decide who can call your TollFree number. So you can offer TollFree calling to as many or as few of your customers as you choose.

How does TollFree work?

  • Your customer initiates a TollFree call by dialling the TollFree number
  • The call goes through to the Advanced Calling Services (ACS) Intelligent Network

The call then goes through to the relevant termination number to be answered

Getting started

Switching over from another provider is easy. You can either transfer your existing number or get a new TelstraClear number. Call 0508 555 500.

There is no set up fee for TollFree numbers and yours can be activated quickly.

Support

With TollFreedom you’ll also be able to view your TollFree call plan and call flow in real time. That means you can make immediate changes to your TollFree set-up, such as changing the terminating phone number and redirecting call flow.


Terms and Conditions

  1. Calls are charged on a minute plus second basis (calculated to the next second). There is a one minute minimum charge for each call. The charge for each call is rounded to the nearest cent.
  2. In addition to the above rates, a 21.33c per minute (plus GST) surcharge will apply in respect of all TollFree calls originating from payphones operated by Telecom New Zealand Limited.
  3. There is a minimum usage charge of $35.00 (plus GST) per month for National Toll Free numbers.
  4. There is a $35.00 (plus GST) per month charge for International Toll Free numbers.
  5. Upon termination of your TelstraClear Toll Free Services, we are required by the terms and conditions of the Toll Free Number Administration Scheme (TNAS) to return the Toll Free number to the TNAS pool. The Toll Free number may then be reallocated, if free, to any service provider (including TelstraClear) on a first come first serve basis provided there is an end customer billing relationship in existence or that will come into existence within 5 Working Days of applying for the number.
  6. We may de-allocate any Toll Free number and return it to the TNAS pool of numbers if no calls are recorded against it for three consecutive billing periods.
